I'm a pastry chef. I love making delicious food. I thrive on praise from random strangers. I recently quit a fairly safe job at as an assistant pastry chef to take a leadership role in the opening of a new restaurant in Annapolis. I started this blog so that I could vent a little about the poor decisions that people make in the restaurant industry, myself included. I won't forget to mention the good decisions too.
This is my first job where I'm expected to plan and lead. It's exhausting. It's terrifying. It's the most exciting choice I've ever made.
Well, maybe. It's a lot of work and I'm starting to fade. Seven 14 hour days a week are starting to weaken my resolve. Only time will tell.
